stiched together faces
i was inspired by this idea as the whole concept of a face being reconstructed and rebuilt. it shows the change in features and shows a distorted version of ones face witch is unsettling to look at with ones eyes. i liked the idea of change where ones face although has the same features has different perspective to look at
first responce
www: i was able to stitch back parts of faces together with all different perspective.
Ebi: i should have used a verity of faces as well as i mainly stitched eyes together when i should i have stitched full faces or other key features of someone's face to show the true change between people

second response
this was my second response to my work idea. this time I stitched 2 faces on the same photo. Again I took photos of people and ripped out key facial features and then stitched it back together. as well as this, I changed the thread for each face(one face as black thread whilst the other has white thread). This time when doing the work I followed the original idea more with the two faces but I still didn't do bigger parts of the face.
www:i stitched 2 different faces with a wide range of different facial features going from ears, lips, teeth and eyes.
ebi: if included larger parts of faces to create a wider image of the face

Alex Eckman
examples of his work
i was very facinated by Alex Eckman's work. he is a US based photograh who's work creates a multi layered hand cut, paper collage with old vintage paintings/photos and creates a newer more morden version of them.
my first responce
in this task I printed pictures of peoples faces and then printed off a background. I then made slits in people faces and stuck the background under the face to create the new photo that was inspired by Alex.
www: i was able to start and attempt to try and recreate Alex Eckman's work and try and use different techniques to show this
EBI: i need more detailed with the cuttings. in this attempt the cutting/slits where where messy and and far from neat. As well as this Alex uses lots of layers in lots of details where as i only did 2-3 layers

burnt collage
for this task i wanted to combine burnt faces into a collage as in a collage your changing the image to fit something you want and then the burnt faces show change in face and again in this task i wanted to show an Ernie and unsettling vibe when looking at the collage.
first response
for this task i got a newspaper and magazines. With the newspapers i made a base by ripping out random parts and sticking it down. then with the magazines i found the best photos of celebs and burnt their faces.
www:i was able to make a collage with clear burnt faces. ebi: i had added more burnt faces to make the collage more full and detailed. |

thomas couderc
Thomas Couderc is french artist based in marsellie where he does his work with his partner Teoman Gurgan. This art work is called "Bêtes de mode" witch means "fashion animal." To create this peice Thomas uses a model and a an animals silouite skelton and then changes the images background colours to overlay eachother to create his final peice
my first response
this was my first attempt of trying to recreate the work I was inspired by.
for this task I took/found photos of people online and then find an animal to go with them. I then changed the photo to be in black and white to have a steady base, then changed the color on the couler scale. I changed the human to red and the animal into blue.
www:i was able to change the couler to the correct co-ordination as well as created a close copy of my inspiration
ebi: I used more of my own photos then one online as well as have better editing of the animals on the face

second responce
when doing this for a second time I changed my technique on how I created the work.
for this I found photos in my camera roll then used the object selection to just get the straight face with no background. from their I changed the image to black and white again to make s better base for the image so the couler would pop more and be more clear. from their I repeated the steps I took from my first attempt but when I had my nail peach I ether moved the photo of the animal to match better or blurred it into the photo to get a nicer and better finish of the image

double faces
I was really intrigued by the whole idea of the same face being changed by cooler and sized. they also remind me of animal and the face just no animal and just faces.
my first attempt
this was my first attempt of my initial stimulus. for this task I took photos of people duplicated the image and rotated one. from their I edited the covers to be different and then changed the opacity
www: I was able to change faces and the colur to get two different faces opposite to each other and it matches the the stimulus.
ebi:i did a range of different photos and changed the images rather than have the same photo duplicated. as well as this, i should have used a wider range of coolers and sizes to create a better image with is more perceivable.

second responce
for this response i did the same as before but the only difference was i made the images in black and white before changing the back colours this was the colours contrasted each other much better. Furthermore, this time i used 2 different photos but of the same perosn and in each picture the person is facing a different way.

blurred face
I was introduced by the blurred face on pintrest and I thought the whole concept of the change of face through blurred vision was very fascinating. As well as this I thought the gradient coolers contrasting each other was really pretty and I wanted to try it for myself
my first response
for this task I took picture people's faces front on. from their I made the image black and white. After that I selected part of their face then made it a new layer then duplicated that new layer. From their I moved the duplicated images around so you get 3 layers of the same part of the image. then with the layer closest to the original photo I use motion blur to make the photo blurry but I use a small number so its not to blurry and I do it at a low angle so its not to far away and the faces will match up. afarom their I repeat this with the duplicated layers but I make the motion blur at a higher number to make the images more blurred.
www: I was able to to create a semi-blurred image with created the idea off change with different gradient colours and exposures.
ebi: i made the images blurred more intact with each other and I should have chosen better colours to use

ebi: i made the images blurred more intact with each other and I should have chosen better colours to use
second responce
when doing my second response to the stimulus I took into count what I didn't do in my first attempt and tried to fix it for my second attempt. When doing this task for the second time I more less did the same thing was a few changes such as I selected subject and made to a white or black back ground rather than leave the image. this later benefited as when changing the gradient the colours where clearer and more vibrant. Another change I made was I sublimated the layers a lot more than I did in my first response. When first doing this task I would duplicate the layer 2-3 times where as doing it for a second time I realised duplicating the layers 5-6 times is much more effective as you get a better blurred affect. As well as this, when editing the photo I used the tool posterize to create a thick effect in the photo with I think worked well with the blur effect.
www: I was able to create a better blurred effect with more vibrant colours as well as I was able to do attempts of my own to make the photo more extravagant.

ALEXEY TITARENKO
Alexey Titarenko is a Russian photographer born in 1962. He studied photography and cinematography at the Union of Cinematographers in Leningrad and the State University of New York. Titarenko is best known for his black-and-white photographs that capture the essence of his hometown, Saint Petersburg. His work often explores the city's history, architecture, and people, as well as the effects of time on them. One of his most famous series is "City of Shadows," which he began in the 1990s. The series captures the dark and moody atmosphere of Saint Petersburg's streets and buildings, using long exposures to create blurred, ghostly figures.
my first attempt
this is my first go at recreating the original stimulas. this task was very similar to blurred faces but rather than have the face close up I did photos taken from afar, where I had taken photos of people from the back to get a landscape picture of people. I than edited the photos in the dame way as I did with the faces but only this Time I didn't duplicated layers I only copied one layer of the area I wanted to make blurry and then from their repeated on everyone I wanted to make blurry.
www: I was able to create a blurred movement in an image.
ebi: i edited other movement in images as well as made the blur more obvious and vibrant

projector on face
this was my original idea. I loved the whole concept of a face changing due to a projection as well as the face you can change someone's whole face and colours because of projection
the photoshoot
for this task I used a projector. with the projector I found different colours and movement online videos. from their I got my friends to stand in front of the projector so the light would project on their faces. I used a verity of different colours and lightings to get a larger verity of photos
www: I took clear projector images with different colours and tones as well as varied the colours and lightings.

my edits
to edit these photos I used photoshop and from their I changed the images. I started off by using the colour scale to change and enlighten the colours. After that I used hue & vibration to change the images contrast and make the colours ether dimmer or more vibrant. From their I adjusted the levels to edit the colours and even change their original colours, I could go from vey vibrant and loud colours to simple dim colours. At the very end of editing I changed the brightness & contrast for final touches.

nature with a human face
i really liked this idea because of the whole idea of nature/city's and towns rather be reflected onto the face, they are in echo of the face. i also further liked the idea of seeing a shadow of a face juxterposed by the nature/city of the face
my first responce
for this task i used photos of peoples faces up close from their i found and used images of woodland areas and placed it over the image. then i used the rubber tool to to erase the back ground so all i was left with was the face in the forest
www: i was able to create an image where the forest / woodlands are in the back ground

my first response
for this task i took used photos of people. From their i added a background wich varied from people in a busy station to a quiet road in the rain. when i added both the images onto photoshop i used the colour background to get rid of other colours and leave only green for the background.
www:i was able to create a clear responce to the original development. i was also able to use and create the background

final piece
my ideas
i loved this idea for my final response as a-lot of the work i had previously done combined together. Not only this, it fit into my stimulus as change in colour and change in face.
my response
for this task i took photos of people and added it to photoshop. from their i duplicated the layer and changed each duplicated layers colours. From there, I rearranged each layers with the new colours so it starts to look like a glitch. From there i used motion blur on one or more of the layers to create movement and blur in the images.
www:i was able to follow my idea for the final piece and create similar images but all different with different colours
